Amatrice
Known for its amatriciana, it is located on the border between Lazio and Abruzzo. It is surrounded by nature, in fact it is an ideal place for biking or taking long walks. The pristine environment of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park makes for a unique visit.
Atina
Called the city of Saturn, founded (according to legend) by the god of Olympus, it has one of the largest city walls in the Italic world.
The village is all to be discovered: the Old Town, the Hill, and the hamlet of Ponte Melfa.
Bassano in Teverina
The village on the tuffaceous outcrop hosts an annual renaissance historical re-enactment with a parade in period dress in July. See the Clock Tower, the old fountain and the Church S. Maria dei Lumi.
Boville Ernica
A village to learn about the beauty of Ciociaria and its flavors. We recommend a visit in spring, when the flowers make the village even more charming.
Castel di Tora
Castel di Tora, a nativity scene on water, is located in the Monte Navegna and Monte Cervia Nature Reserve. Here you can see the Vallocchie Falls for free and discover the Turano Lake.
Castel Gandolfo
Castel Gandolfo, which overlooks Lake Albano, is known for being the place chosen by the Pope for his summer residence. From the Vatican, in fact, a train leaves that takes you right to the discovery of this place.
Castel San Pietro Romano
The Colonna fortress hosts an artistic nativity scene with life-size characters every year. In addition, historical reenactments with music, good food and fireworks are held in August.
Castelnuovo di Porto
A former Roman colony in the Middle Ages, today it is a village to be discovered with its imposing Castello della Rocca, the great Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Assunta and the Palazzetto Cardinalizio.
Castro dei Volsci
In the village of Nino Manfredi, born in 1921 within the city’s stone walls, you can see the Fortress of St. Peter, the Monument to the Ciociara Mother, the Abbey of St. Nicholas, the archaeological area of Casale di Madonna del Piano, and the Civic Archaeological Museum.
Civita of Bagnoregio
The dying city, as it is called, is a suburb that leaves everyone speechless. The village, in fact, is reached by crossing a narrow 300-meter bridge. Absolutely to be discovered!
Collalto Sabino
The castle, stone houses and narrow streets take you to a timeless place where silence soothes the soul.
Leaf
From this small town, consisting of ancient buildings, you can see the Tiber River, the Sabatini and Cimini mountains, and Mount Soratte-a place of worship of Sabines, Etruscans, and Romans.
Medieval Gaeta
Where there is one of the most beautiful seaside places in Latium, there also stands a romantic and timeless village. Gaeta’s museum center is worth seeing.
Greccio
This village enchants the visitor’s heart. Discover the Franciscan Shrine of the Nativity (world famous) and the Greccio Historical Center.
Nemi
In the Castelli Romani we find this lakeside village that has become famous for its strawberry festival. But it is also worth visiting at other times of the year: there are very romantic little restaurants!
Orvinio
Nestled in the Monti Lucretili Regional Natural Park, Orvinio allows visitors to discover a complex of buildings and towers built in various eras. It also offers a very nice view of the surrounding landscape.

The village near Lake Vico was also honored on the Rai program Kilimangiaro. Find, in fact, one of our articles exclusively dedicated to the beauties of Ronciglione.
San Felice Circeo
Another destination to discover a short distance from Rome is San Felice Circeo. A beautiful seaside place that comes alive especially in summer. We recommend seeing the Scenic Garden of Vigna La Corte.
Sperlonga
The pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea, as Sperlonga is called. In fact, it is a very quaint village made up of ups and downs. If you get to the top, where there is the square with restaurants and bars, you can admire the panorama with a view of the sea.
Subiaco
Subiaco is home to the only surviving monastery of those founded by St. Benedict of Norcia in the Aniene Valley: St. Scholastica (the world’s oldest of the Benedictine order). It is also a place to discover because of the natural landscapes, you can do many outdoor activities, especially during the warm season.
