With the arrival of warm weather, it is always nice to get together with friends for a good aperitif. Looking for terraces where you can admire the view? Or Instagrammable gardens? In this list of places to have an aperitivo in Rome you will find several alternatives…
Choose the one best suited to your needs and remember to make reservations.
Aperitif Rome Center
La Buvette Bistrot Roma, at 44/47 Via Vittoria, offers non-stop food service 7 days a week. Every day at 5 p.m. you can try classic drinks, accompanied by charcuterie boards (€16) or house desserts (has an in-house pastry workshop). Recommended for an aperitif in the heart of Rome.
Raf Restaurant – Rome Center
In the Prati area (at 17 Via Plinio), you’ll find the modern pizza restaurant Raf. Great for a lunch break among colleagues, a stone’s throw from Piazza Cola di Rienzo, or for an aperitif after work. The restaurant has outdoor tables and the service is very efficient and courteous. As for drinks, among the offerings are not only the great classics, but also “Mocktails” for those who do not like alcohol. We recommend trying the house cocktail: Raf Spritz (Midori, prosecco and ginger beer). Wine glasses cost 4/5 euros.
The Mosquito – Meadows
At 84 Crescentius Street, you will find Mosquito bistro: a restaurant with a lively atmosphere. During the cocktail hour you can try creative international cuisine dishes with “industrial” style. The cocktails are special, such as ITALIAN 75 : Roby Marton Gin, Ginger, Lemon, Classic Method Sparkling Wine. The first drink costs €10; it can also be paired with different tapas.
Lost – North Rome
At Ponte Milvio, 35 Via Riano, you can enjoy good cocktails from Lost. You can choose from “Aperilost” cutting board plus drink (€10), “Aperitop” cutting board plus pinsa and drink (€15), Aperivegetarians (€13) and Apericeliaci (€15).
Angelina – Testaccio
Angelina Restaurant has a beautiful terrace in Testaccio where you can enjoy good cocktails (even the beloved Spritz). It is located at both Via Galvani 24a and Via del Porto Fluviale 5f, where it is open from breakfast to dinner. Cocktails cost between €10 and €15 and come with olives and lupins.
Yo Fusion – Anagnina
Sushi lovers can have an aperitif at this fusion restaurant in the Anagnina area. Every day from 6 to 8 p.m. is AperiYo at €15 with choice of drinks and a fusion tasting of raw and cooked samples. It is located at Via Tuscolana 1848.
692 Secret Garden – Rome South
At 692 Secret Garden, at 692 Tuscolana Street, you can try Capitoline specialties in a large garden within the Roman walls. Prices are good, fancy cocktails cost about 10 € (some even 8 €). We recommend that you try Dulce Mexicano: Rum, Tequila, Agave Syrup, Lime, Pineapple. Also good are the sweet pizzas, ricotta and pear or Nutella.
Savory lovers will be able to order the social pan, special round pizzas (e.g., hummus and mortadella), various types of supplì (such as the one with Nduja), traditional Roman first courses, or meat and fish main courses for those who want to stop for dinner in this beautiful secret garden in the city.
Luce Experience – Rome South
Luce Experience is located at 164 Ardeatina Street. The location is very beautiful, romantic and glamorous at the same time. The style is inspired by nature and country chic conviviality. The cocktail bar and restaurant is located in the Appia Antica Archaeological Park, inside Villa Dei Cesari.
Chef Mirko Pagani is in charge of the menu, offering revamped traditional Roman dishes. You’ll also find sushi, if you’re a lover, flatbreads and fried foods for cocktail hour. In addition to classic cocktails also some original ones, such as Luce: with Vodka base and orange liqueur, Blue Curaçao, grapefruit, lemon, sugar and soda. This year the reopening of the garden has not yet been announced.

The ideal place for Spritz lovers is located in Monti, 110 Via dei Serpenti. The Spritzeria for the aperitif formula offers Aperol Spritz and other tasty cocktails. It is open daily from 6 pm.
