With the arrival of warm weather, it’s always nice to meet up with friends for a good aperitivo. Looking for terraces where you can admire the view? Or Instagrammable gardens? In this list of places to have an aperitivo in Rome, you’ll find several alternatives…

Aperitivo Roma Centro
La Buvette Bistrot Roma, at 44/47 Via Vittoria, offers non-stop food service 7 days a week. Every day at 5 p.m. you can try classic drinks, accompanied by charcuterie boards (€16) or house desserts (it has an in-house pastry laboratory). Recommended for an aperitif in the heart of Rome.
Raf Restaurant – Rome Center
In the Prati area (at Via Plinio, 17), you’ll find the modern restaurant-pizzeria Raf. Great for a lunch break among colleagues, a stone’s throw from Piazza Cola di Rienzo, or for an aperitif after work. The restaurant has outdoor tables and the service is very efficient and courteous. As for drinks, among the proposals are not only the great classics, but also “Mocktails” for those who do not like alcohol. We recommend trying the house cocktail: Raf Spritz (Midori, prosecco and ginger beer). Wine glasses cost 4/5 euros.
La Zanzara – Prati
At 84 Crescenzio Street, you’ll find La Zanzara bistro: a restaurant with a lively atmosphere. During the aperitif hour you can try creative international cuisine with an “industrial” style. The cocktails are special, such as ITALIAN 75 : Roby Marton Gin, Ginger, Lemon, Classic Method Sparkling Wine. The first drink costs 10 €, you can also pair it with different tapas.
Lost – North Rome
At Ponte Milvio, Via Riano 35, you can enjoy the good cocktails of Lost. You can choose from “Aperilost” tagliere plus drink (10 €), “Aperitop” tagliere plus pinsa and drink (15 €), Aperivegetariani (13 €) and Apericeliaci (15 €).
Angelina – Testaccio
Angelina restaurant has a beautiful terrace in Testaccio where you can enjoy good cocktails (even the beloved Spritz). It is located at both Via Galvani 24a and Via del Porto Fluviale 5f, where it is open from breakfast to dinner. Cocktails cost between €10 and €15 and come with olives and lupins.
Yo Fusion – Anagnina
Sushi lovers can have an aperitif at this fusion restaurant in the Anagnina area. Every day from 6 to 8 p.m. there is AperiYo for €15 with a choice of drinks and a fusion tasting of raw and cooked samples. It is located at 1848 Via Tuscolana.
692 Secret Garden – South Rome
At 692 Secret Garden, at 692 Via Tuscolana, you can try Capitoline specialties in a large garden within the Roman walls. Prices are good, fancy cocktails cost about 10 € (some even 8 €). We recommend you try Dulce Mexicano: Rum, Tequila, Agave Syrup, Lime, Pineapple. Also good are the sweet pizzas, ricotta and pear or Nutella.
Savory lovers can order the social pan, special round pizzas (e.g., hummus and mortadella), various kinds of supplìs (such as Nduja), traditional Roman entrees, or meat and fish main courses for those who want to stop for dinner in this beautiful secret garden in the city.
Luce Experience – South Rome
Luce Experience is located at Via Ardeatina, 164. The location is very beautiful, romantic and glamorous at the same time. The style is inspired by nature and country chic conviviality. The cocktail bar and restaurant is located in the Appia Antica Archaeological Park, inside Villa Dei Cesari.
Chef Mirko Pagani is in charge of the menu, offering revamped traditional Roman dishes. You’ll also find sushi, if you’re a lover, flatbreads and fried food for aperitif time. In addition to classic cocktails also some original ones, such as Luce: with Vodka base and orange liqueur, Blue Curaçao, grapefruit, lemon, sugar and soda. The reopening of the garden has not yet been announced this year.
The Spritzeria – Monti
The ideal place for Spritz lovers is located in Monti, at 110 Via dei Serpenti. The Spritzeria for the aperitif formula offers Aperol Spritz and other tasty cocktails. It is open daily from 6 p.m.
ViVi – Piazza Venezia
An aperitif with a crazy view? At ViVi you can have an aperitif in the home of the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte’s mother. We are talking about Palazzo Bonaparte, where the Van Gogh exhibition was also held. The venue is inspired by the Parisian Cafes of the 1920s.
