A peculiar grocery store opened a few years ago in Garbatella, in fact everything inside is vegan (even the owners). In the market you can taste different vegan cold cuts: mortadella flavor, cooked and raw ham and salami. In addition, Marco and Matilde give tips on preparing certain recipes, using the products on sale at Vegustibus.
Matilde herself said in an interview that the store has also attracted the attention of people living outside Rome, in fact in the various comments to their videos there is always someone asking for another store to be opened in their city.
What’s special about Vegustibus is that inside you can find just about anything: sandwiches with eggs and salami, with happy chicken, pinsa, ricotta, mozzarella and other cheeses, Roman-style supplì, vegan fish and meat, and for breakfast or snack lots of sweets (croissants, ciavattone, pastries, etc.) and cakes for birthdays.
For those who miss it, there is pizza with mortazza (also vegan). The mortadella contains tofu (the classic white patches), but also pistachio like animal mortadella.
The store is closed on Mondays and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is located at 70/ 72 Giovanni Andrea Badoero St., near the Garbatella metro station.
