There’s a touch of the Castelli Romani in this latest, very sweet Guinness World Record. As reported by Monte Compatri, the news that fills us with pride comes from London, where the young pastry chef Serena Angelillo —born in 1997 and raised in Laghetto—was one of the undisputed stars in the creation of the world’s longest tiramisu.
The World’s Longest Tiramisu
The event, held at Chelsea Old Town Hall, brought together over a hundred pastry chefs and volunteers for a titanic undertaking: a “strip” of tiramisu measuring a whopping 440.58 meters! To give you an idea of the scale, the recipe called for 128,000 ladyfingers, 19,000 eggs, 400 kg of sugar, and a whopping 2 metric tons of mascarpone. The whole thing was certified not only by Guinness World Records judges but also by the expert eye of Master Pastry Chef Iginio Massari.
Beyond the record, there’s a big heart behind it: the slices were sold, raising approximately 30,000 euros, which were donated to the Esharelife Foundation for charitable projects. This achievement filled the Mayor of Monte Compatri, Francesco Ferri, with joy; he praised the talent and dedication of Serena, now an established professional at Eataly in London after training in Fiuggi and working her way up here in Rome as well.
