Halloween night is just a few days away, and after the events that liven up the city, the real surprise comes from celebrated pastry chef Iginio Massari. His Alta Pasticceria line has launched a series of special edition cakes to celebrate the holiday with a touch of spooky elegance.
The Halloween maritozzo

The undisputed star is the Halloween Maritozzo: an imaginative and mouth-watering take on the iconic Roman dessert. The soft brioche dough is here proposed with cocoa, light “like a cloud,” and hides a layered and rich filling: orange marmalade, dark chocolate custard and plenty of whipped cream. The whole is finished with a sprinkling of low-fat cocoa and decorated with cute dark chocolate bats.
Not just maritozzo: the limited collection
Maestro Massari’s Halloween offerings do not stop at maritozzo, but include other must-have products, all available until Oct. 31:
- Themed Mac arons: the famous Macarons with cream-based ganache are offered in a fun Halloween graphic, available in classic vanilla and hazelnut flavors.
- Halloween Cookies: gloomy shortbread designed to encapsulate the magic of the holiday. The iconic pumpkin, skull and bat shapes are ready to delight and entertain with every bite.
