Fluffy means fluffy and these pancakes are tall and fluffy with a fluffy texture. They look like little clouds to eat. If you follow the various food bloggers online, you may have happened to see a video about this very treat.
In Rome you can pay a visit to Tokyo Pancake, a place located at 71 Via in Arcione, just a few steps from the Trevi Fountain. It is a Japanese bakery specializing in the famous fluffy pancakes. The place was opened by Akira Yoshida, already known for his Ramen Bar Akira.
The viral pancakes
Fluffy pancakes come in four main varieties: Tokyo (strawberry and cream), Fuji (strawberry, azuki red bean jam, cream and matcha), Kyoto (banana and chocolate), and Osaka (berries and cream). Pancakes can be ordered in single (€6) or double (€9.80) portions, with the option of adding extra fruit and sauces.
Preparation is by sight, although wait times can be slightly long, as the process requires care and attention. There is also the Karage savory pancake with cabbage, chicken, teriyaki, onion and egg.
