A new Sant’Isidoro Pizza e Bolle location has opened in San Giovanni, specifically at 1 Via Siria, in the heart of the Appio Latino neighborhood. This location takes the place of the historic Sbanco pizzeria. With this opening, the group reaches five locations in the Capital, consolidating its presence with a diversified offer that embraces all types of pizza: Neapolitan, Roman (Ostiense location) and in teglia (EUR).
Sant’Isidoro’s Menu.
The new Sant’Isidoro offers the same menu as the Prati location, featuring a seasonal rotation and unique creations. Prominent among the pizzas are:
- Three Tomatoes + 1: dry tomato, semi-dry fried tomato, yellow paccatella tomato, homemade tomato ristretto and basil cream
- Capricciosa: semi-boiled egg, homemade Taggiasca olive powder, artichoke alla giudia, fiordilatte dei Monti Lattari, artichoke cream, San Marzano DOP tomato and Parma ham
- the double-cooked slices (first fried and then baked)
Notable among the fried items are:
- Codfish with squid ink cream
- Classic Neapolitan frittatina
- Supplì: made with Acquerello rice, San Marzano DOP tomato sauce, fiordilatte di Agerola and homemade breadcrumbs
The menu also offers a tasting trail with pizza slices and fritti paired with glasses of bubbly.
The new pizzeria
The new venue retains the original Sbanco team in both the dining room and kitchen. The doughs are overseen by Neapolitan pizzaiolo Giovanni Nesi, known for his attention to innovative techniques. Pairing with bubbles is central: the wine list includes about 150 references including Champagne, Franciacorta, Trento DOC and other fine cuvées. Not surprisingly, the group won the award for “Best Beverage List” in Gambero Rosso’s Guide Pizzerie d’Italia 2025.
With elegant and modern settings, Sant’Isidoro in San Giovanni represents a new meeting point between tradition and innovation in the world of pizza in Rome.
