The historic Sagra della Tellina (Tellina Festival) is back from August 22 to 31 in Ostia, in the picturesque setting of the Borghetto dei Pescatori: an unmissable event that celebrates the typical shellfish of the Latium coastline and Ostia’s seafaring tradition.
The event kicks off on Friday, August 22 at 6 p.m. with the opening of the kitchens for the first tastings. Until Aug. 31, it will be possible to enjoy typical tellin dishes both for lunch and dinner. Along with the gastronomic offerings, the event includes debates, musical performances, moments of animation and evening entertainment.
Fishermen, both historical and young, will share stories and secrets of life on the sea with the public and the curious.
Each day, the kitchens are scheduled to open at 12:00 p.m. (for lunch tastings) and 6:00 p.m. (for dinner).
