With the arrival of summer, Mama Shelter Rome reopens the doors to its iconic terrace. Situated in a prime location offering breathtaking views of St. Peter’s Dome and the Monte Mario promontory, the rooftop reaffirms its status as one of the most original and lively hangouts in the capital.
The setting, characterized by a colorful and playful design, is a true urban oasis enriched by lush plants and pop-inspired decor, ideal for those seeking a moment of relaxation away from the city’s chaos.
All the moments to experience at Mama Shelter
The rooftop menu is designed to suit different times of the day, focusing on freshness and conviviality. Lunch (Monday–Friday) ranges from classic favorites like charcuterie platters and cod cannoli to seasonal pasta dishes (vegetarian lasagnette and veal cannelloni). There’s no shortage of lighter options like salads and pan-fried focaccia, followed by artisanal desserts such as caramel cheesecake.
Saturday brunch celebrates the slow life. The menu includes a wide selection of eggs, pastries, avocado toast, and pancakes, as well as more substantial dishes and delicious desserts like strawberries with tonka bean cream.
The Aperitif: Music to Sip
The real highlight of the season is the “Hit Ma(ma)Mania Dance” drink list. Mama Shelter’s bartenders have created 11 signature cocktails inspired by the biggest pop and dance hits of the 2000s. Among the offerings:
- Love Generation: a refreshing mix of rum, mezcal, cucumber, and mint
- I Want It That Way: an exotic and vibrant cocktail made with mango, passion fruit, and blue curaçao
- No Stress: a sparkling non-alcoholic option with 0.0% gin, ginger, and cucumber.
