The truffle experience just a stone’s throw from Rome
Agriturismo La Montagnola is located in Torri in Sabina (RI), and is much more than just a farmhouse: it is a true “House of Truffles” specializing in promoting this product.
The “Truffle Experience” is the main activity dedicated to truffle hunting; it would be impossible without the faithful four-legged friends of Claudio (the owner). The meeting is in the morning, for a brief and interesting theoretical session on the world of truffles (depending on the season, different types can be found), before heading into the heart of the hunt.
The dogs’ sense of smell is amazing! The experience lasts about 2 hours, and after the harvest, the truffles are served at a tasting lunch.
The restaurant offers simple dishes designed to highlight fresh, seasonal truffles. Some specialties include eggs with truffles, homemade fettuccine or gnocchetti with truffles, meat main courses with truffles (or vegetarian options), and even truffle desserts.
Staying at the property
The property offers cozy accommodations with large windows offering a panoramic view of the Sabina region and an outdoor hot tub. The apartment consists of a living room with a kitchen, a bathroom, and a bedroom.
