Rome is preparing to host an event that goes beyond a simple food festival. From May 1 to 3, 2026, the Città dell’Altra Economia will become the beating heart of ethical and sustainable culture. A free event designed for those who want to explore a new way of life, based on respect for the environment and all living beings.
What the vegan festival has in store
Taste takes center stage thanks to 10 food areas dedicated to plant-based street food. This year, the food area features the curation and talent of Irene Volpe (finalist on MasterChef Italia 10), who will bring her vision of seasonal and technical cuisine, demonstrating just how refined and surprising the plant-based world can be.
Among the brands and venues present ,you’ll find prominent names such as: Romeow Cat Bistrot, Flower Burger, Veggie Smash, Nativa Libera Pasticceria, and Cacao Motum…and many other key players on the Roman and national vegan scene.
Not just food: the festival will host a market with over 100 artisans from all over Italy, ready to present unique, sustainable creations sourced from transparent supply chains. The program is enriched by a packed schedule of talks and debates on sustainability and animal rights.
As for the music, from the ’80s DJ set on Friday to the tribute to Franco Battiato on the closing night. The Roma Vegan Festival is also an important occasion for solidarity. The funds raised will go to various organizations that protect animals, including Capra Libera Tutti, the HOPE Shelter, Bryan’s Greyhound Rescue, and the Heartland Sanctuary. Activists from organizations such as Animalisti Italiani and Anonymous for the Voiceless will also be present.
