Several events will take place in Rome over the weekend of March 15-16, 2025, which will result in changes to traffic and public transportation. Let’s see together which roads will be closed for each event.
Saturday, March 15
As we have already told you, the Fun Run will take place on Saturday, March 15, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. stop of line 119 with repercussions to the road system between the Muro Torto, Piazzale Flaminio and the Lungotevere for an event in Piazza del Popolo.
Between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., a peace rally will be held in Piazza Bocca della Verità. As communicated by the City of Rome: by 12:30 p.m. no parking will be allowed in the square. Possible detours for buses 30, 44, 81, 83, 118, 160, 170, 628, 715, 716, 781 and C3.
Demonstration in Piazza Barberini between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Possible detours of the following routes 52, 53, 61, 62, 63, 80, 83, 85 100, 119, 160, 492, 590 and C3.
Italy-Ireland Six Nations rugby at the Olympic Stadium at 3:15 p.m.; there is a 50 percent discount on Car Sharing Roma car rentals that will park near the Olimpico for at least 90 minutes during the matches.
Also due to railway works, traffic disruption between Roma Tiburtina and Roma Ostiense on March 15-16.
Sunday, March 16
Road closures starting at 00:01 a.m. Sunday, March 16 for the main Marathon starting at 8 a.m. from the Imperial Forum and finishing at Circus Maximus. Via di San Gregorio and Via Celio Vibenna will be closed to traffic and the entire route closed at about 7:30 a.m. The Colosseum station of Metro B will be closed.
Also on Sunday are the patronal festival in Fonte Nuova (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.), closed Via Nomentana between Via IV Novembre and Via Monte Circeo, and the socio-cultural event in Ostia, closed Via delle Baleniere from number 2 to number 137.
During these eventful days, the Municipality of Rome advises people to travel by public transportation, on foot or by bicycle to avoid being stuck in traffic and with few opportunities to park their cars.
