Transformed into a true urban regeneration hub by Federico Feliziani, Parco Appio is one of the outdoor gathering spots to keep in mind this summer. With its 12,000 square meters located between the Appia Antica and the Caffarella, this free-admission space attracts over 100,000 people per season, offering a mix of nature, socializing, and entertainment.
What to Eat and Drink at Parco Appio
The culinary offerings are diverse and designed to satisfy every palate, from pizzas and burgers to the latest in mixology.
L’Elementare is the heart of the park’s pizza scene. It offers table service from Wednesday through Sunday, while a limited menu is always available in the courtyard every day.
Hot Stuff is the go-to spot for sandwich lovers, with a wide selection of burgers ranging from the great classics to vegetarian options. There’s also a section dedicated to grilled dishes. Here you can enjoy meat skewers (chicken, artisanal lamb arrosticini, marinated beef), premium cuts, and delicious sides like Sicilian-style hummus.
New for 2026 is Bar Bello, housed in the former newsstand; it’s a new walk-in venue (you can just walk in and sit down without a reservation). It’s open Sunday through Thursday and features live music without a stage, cultural events, and drinks curated in collaboration with Blind Pig.
The events calendar
Summer at Parco Appio is marked by special events celebrating food in all its forms, from plant-based cuisine to traditional street food.
Every Monday, “ Interno 25” awaits you—an intimate event conceived by Andrea Febo. Limited to just 25 guests (by reservation only), it features an informal interview with big names in food and wine as they cook and share their stories. Upcoming guests include Francesca Gambacorta, Roy Caceres, Giorgia Proia, and Gianfranco Pascucci.
(July 24–26): an entire weekend dedicated to plant-based cuisine. Traveling chef Irene Volpe (former MasterChef contestant) will serve up original dishes and her signature creations from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
I Fratelli Figurato in Rome (September 10): an evening celebrating yeast that combines the traditions of Neapolitan and Roman pizza in a festive atmosphere, accompanied by DJ sets until late at night.
Magno (September 26–27): the festival celebrating Roman street food. Starting at 12:00 PM, you can sample beloved classics like meatballs in tomato sauce, coratella, picchiapò, and slices of pan-baked pizza.
