We are just over three months away from the end of 2025, and weekends are never enough. Unfortunately, we do not have many holidays left. We should wait until December to enjoy some midweek relaxation. After September, in fact, without being able to take advantage of bridges or extended weekends, November’s only national holiday (1st), All Saints’ Day, falls on a Saturday, so it doesn’t allow for extended working days off!
When will the holiday be celebrated?

The month with the most bridges will be December: December 8 (Monday) for Immaculate Conception there will be a long weekend. This will be followed by Christmas, Boxing Day (Dec. 25 and 26), which fall on a Thursday and Friday in 2025, providing a long weekend for the holiday season.
Thus, both the Immaculate Conception and Christmas weekends will be possible to lengthen one’s vacation. Generally, during the Christmas season, there are many activities to do in Rome: markets and stores where you can shop to decorate your home. In addition, trains also leave from the capital to Europe’s most famous markets for those who want to devote a few days to discover new places away from the Eternal City.
In 2026, on the other hand, major holidays such as New Year’s Day (Jan. 1), Epiphany (Jan. 6), Easter and Angel Monday, Liberation Day (April 25), Labor Day (May 1), Republic Day (June 2) and Ferragosto (Aug. 15) will offer some opportunities for bridging, even if some fall on “inconvenient” days to bridge.
All in all, for the rest of 2025 in Italy we will be able to appreciate a few midweek vacations, and it will be important to plan vacations well in order to make the most of the few available bridges, such as the Immaculate Conception and the Christmas period, ideal times to unplug and enjoy some rest away from home… but in any case, it is only a short time before, after the Halloween festivities, we will begin to breathe in the atmosphere of the most magical time of the year, with the little lights decorating the city streets.
