From Sept. 27 to Oct. 7, Marino celebrates a century of traditions with a packed program of events. The center of the Castelli town will be dressed up, offering lots of events and the ever-present “miracle of the fountains that give wine.” This year’s poster was designed by 90-year-old futurist artist Lina Passalacqua.
Participants in the 100th edition of the Sagra will experience the charm of the past through historical processions, costume parades and re-enactments of epic battles. But they will also enjoy local products, participate in workshops and discover the secrets of viticulture.
On the program are concerts, theater performances and dances, along with performances by flag-wavers and musicians, visits to museums, archaeological sites and in nearby villages. There is also a dedicated area with games, workshops and performances for children.
To name a few events, Saturday, Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. will feature a tribute concert to Califano, Sunday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. the Children’s Festival, Saturday, Oct. 5 at 10 p.m. Marino Emotional Show by Laserman, Sunday, Oct. 6 at 5:30 p.m. the fountains giving wine show, and Monday, Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. the Max Giusti show.
