Stepping into Sor Duilio is a bit like crossing the threshold of an old-fashioned shop, where the line between the fish counter and the tavern tables is almost nonexistent. A family history spanning several generations, and it is precisely this deep connection to the sea that dictates the rules in the kitchen: no frills, just a celebration of what the boats have brought ashore that morning.
There are currently two locations: the historic one at Via della Cave di Pietralata 44-46 and the new one at Via Agri 9. We’ll tell you about the first one.
The menu at Sor Duilio
The experience often begins with their famous raw seafood dishes, which are the restaurant’s true calling card. If you want to immerse yourself fully, the trio of tartares for two is the ideal starting point (€27).
Moving on to the hot appetizers, if you prefer something more specific, there’s the classic sautéed mussels (€12) that’s sure to please everyone. For the first courses, the kitchen follows the instinct of the fish counter.

If you prefer main courses, you can choose your catch directly from the counter (such as sea bass, sea bream, or red mullet), with prices per kilo varying based on the delicacy of the species. The fish is served raw (cleaned and sliced) and then cooked on a Himalayan salt stone; according to Sor Duilio, this is the best way to savor the freshness of the sea. Or you can opt for ready-made dishes like squid stuffed with wok-fried vegetables for €15 or the red tuna skewer.
It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking for substance and want to feel pampered. Sor Duilio is open on fresh fish days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 11:30 PM; Thursday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
In the summer, you can also dine outdoors.
