This year, the Christmas spirit begins even before you reach your destination. To markthe eleventh edition of Arezzo’s famous Christmas Markets, the special train departing from Roma Termini is back: a perfect opportunity to reach one of Italy’s most beloved Christmas destinations, enjoying the comfort of train travel and leaving behind the stress of traffic jams, congestion, and the hunt for parking.
The “magical” journey from Rome
The direct connection will take travelers through the gentle and picturesque landscapes of Tuscia and Etruria. On board, relaxation is guaranteed thanks to the dedicated assistance of the staff and the presence of a dining car, perfect for taking a break with snacks and drinks. And to make the experience even more unique, passengers are also in for a magical surprise during the journey.
Once you arrive in Arezzo, a pleasant, short walk from the station is all it takes to immerse yourself in the enchanting historic center. The main attraction is the splendid Piazza Grande, home to Italy’s largest Tyrolean Market. Among the characteristic wooden huts, visitors can purchase handicrafts and gift ideas, and sample traditional products from Tyrol, Austria, and Germany (such as pretzels, raclette, melted cheese, and roast pork shank). Rounding out the festivities will be the spectacular Big Lights Show, which will illuminate the facades of historic buildings, and the unmissable Santa’s House, located at the picturesque vantage point of the Medici Fortress, which will host a wide variety of themed exhibits, activities, and entertainment.

The schedule is designed to let you enjoy the entire day: departure from Rome Termini is scheduled between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m., while the return trip in the evening will take place between 8:45 and 9:30 p.m.

As for fares:
- Adults (ages 14 and up): 79 euros
- Children and Teens (ages 6 to under 14): 49 euros
- Small children (ages 0 to under 6): travel for free (without an assigned seat).
