Bubble football scheduled in Rome
On March 13, 2026, at the Circolo Sportivo Bandinelli in Rome, there will be an event dedicated to Bubble Football, an experience where gravity seems optional and fun takes precedence over soccer technique.
The event, coordinated by WeRoad, transforms participants into real-life “human bumper cars.” Each player wears a giant inflatable PVC ball that covers their torso and head, leaving only their legs free. Although it might get pretty hot in there in the summer…
The goal remains to score in the opponent’s goal, but with one complication: every contact with other players results in spectacular bounces, endless rolls, and falls.
The package offered includes everything you need for a carefree evening. Access to the fields, changing rooms, and showers. Rental of protective bubbles and assistance from a referee (who will probably spend more time laughing than whistling).
A WeRoad coordinator will be present and, for those who wish, there will be a post-match dinner to discuss the most epic “flights” of the evening.
The Roots of Bubble Football
But where does this madness come from? The origins of Bubble Football are uncertain; some say it all started in Norway in 2011, thanks to the game being featured on the comedy sports show “Golden Goal.” Others claim it was invented in Germany.
Today, this game is played all over the world and used for team building, bachelor parties, birthday parties, and other events. In Italy, Bubble Football has several centers in cities such as Milan, Naples, and Turin.
