Rome’s summer is enriched with a great novelty: Bauhaus, the famous Garbatella restaurant, opens its summer home directly on the banks of the Tiber. In collaboration with The Magick Bar, a seasonal project is born, surrounded by greenery and overlooking the river, where Bauhaus’ vision merges with the city’s nighttime atmosphere.
Until Sept. 20, at Via Lungotevere Oberdan 2, Bauhaus brings its creative cuisine, natural wines and unmistakable energy to an open-air space designed to fully experience the Roman summer. The restaurant, operating Monday through Saturday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., offers different areas: a counter overlooking the Tiber, a dining room and relaxed lounges for aperitifs and convivial moments.
The gastronomic offerings, signed by chef Andrea Castagna, range from aperitif dishes such as shrimp catalana, seafood panzanella, burratina with green gazpacho, tacos and small bites, to more structured courses such as ceviche of the catch of the day, picanha, Thai-style calamari, meat skewer and lobster roll. There is no shortage of curated sushi selections.
The drink list features six original signature cocktails, including the “Kiss of Jupiter” and the “Bauhaus,” as well as aperitif offerings and creative mocktails.
The musical and nocturnal soul of the project is taken care of by the Magick Bar, with a schedule of events, DJ sets and thematic evenings, always surrounded by greenery and a suspended and evocative atmosphere. Every week, collaborations with Roman realities such as La Differenza and Vinificio enrich the calendar with creative touches and dedicated wine selections.
