What is the Acquapole Fitness?
In summer, it is always more difficult to work out because of the heat. That’s why those who just don’t want to give up exercising prefer to do water sports, such as water aerobics or the “new”‘Acquapole Fitness. This is an innovative water sport born in Italy in 2010 and inspired by pole dancing, but performed in the pool.
How it is practiced
The discipline uses a patented piece of equipment called “acquapole,” a steel pole attached to a circular base by suction cups, easily adaptable to any pool. The aquapole allows for more than 150 exercises and more than 20 different holds, making it among the most versatile tools in aqua fitness.
The class takes place in water of medium depth (about 1.20m). Each class can include toning elements, balance exercises, stretching, jumping jacks and pole dance-inspired movements. The water provides natural resistance, allowing you to safely work on strength, agility and endurance without impacting your joints
The main benefits are total toning due to the involvement of the whole body, with special emphasis on the abdomen, arms, legs and buttocks. It also increases muscle strength, elasticity, improves posture, coordination and balance.
This weekend’s event
On July 27 and 28, Zoomarine hosts the Acqua Pole Fitness Weekend, two days dedicated to the discipline that combines pole dancing exercises with the benefits of pool training.
The event includes group classes suitable for adults and children, held entirely in the water, and high-energy Acquapole Fitness routines accompanied by summer music.
