The initiative, created to celebrate the European recognition of Traditional Specialty Guaranteed (TSG), is not only a celebration of taste, but also a powerful sign of social and economic rebirth for a region looking to the future after the wounds of the earthquake.
Amatriciana Day
The event is organized by ARAM (Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Amatrice) with the support of local and regional institutions and the scientific support of Roma Tre University.

Friday, March 6, represents the institutional and educational heart of the event dedicated to one of Lazio’s most famous dishes in the world. The program includes in-depth discussions on history, nutrition, and slow tourism with experts and university professors. And for young people, there will be university orientation sessions related to the course in Food and Wine Sciences and Cultures. The official tastings are organized by the CFP Alberghiero di Amatrice and the Italian Chefs Federation.
On Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8, there will be experiences and shows for visitors. For those who book the set menu (Amatriciana dish, main course, water, and coffee) at ARAM member establishments, there will be numerous free activities (upon reservation). To participate, simply find a restaurant on the Amatriciana Day website and reserve a spot for lunch or dinner.
As for outdoor activities, there will be guided hiking tours (CAI) and e-bike tours. Culture and art enthusiasts can book visits to restoration workshops, municipal museums, and the Oasis of Orie Terme.
And that’s not all: on March 7, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Multipurpose Hall of the Polo delle Tradizioni will host the Show Cooking: “The Science of Amatriciana” with chef Elia Grillotti and Prof. Fabio Bruni.
On the entertainment side, Saturday evening will feature a show by impressionist Gabriella Germani at the Auditorium della Laga. On Sunday afternoon, there will be a theatrical performance inspired by Aristophanes to mark International Women’s Day.
