The Roman festival, which opens its doors today, May 6, 2026, transforms this historic industrial space, the Gazometro ( Via Ostiense 82), into a vibrant and accessible gastronomic village.
The goal is to introduce the general public and younger generations to haute cuisine, in a setting that combines urban renewal and social interaction. In addition to tasting tours among the various restaurant stands, the event features a rich calendar of entertainment and educational activities.
Taste of Rome: why attend
The event features over 20 restaurants, skillfully blending Michelin-starred establishments, new openings, and ethnic cuisines. The stoves will be fired up in two main shifts.
From May 6 to 8, the spotlight is on Michelin-starred heavyweights such as Heinz Beck, Angelo Troiani, and Daniele Usai. Alongside them, the public will be able to sample the offerings of Giulio Zoli, Andrea Cavallaro ( an expert in charcoal grilling), the Trecastelli brothers (masters of Roman tradition), Davide Del Duca, Roberto Bonifazi, Francesco Brandini, Danilo Mancini, TV personality Natale Giunta, Leonardo Malgarini, and Federico Salvucci.

From May 9 to 10, while Beck, Cavallaro, Del Duca, and the Trecastelli family extend their presence, other prestigious Michelin-starred chefs such as Andrea Pasqualucci and Heros De Agostinis will make their debut. The weekend will also feature Asian flavors with Koji Nakai and Yamamoto Ejii, as well as the creativity of Alessandro Pietropaoli, Ciro Cucciniello, Giacomo Zezza, and Anastasia Paris.
How it works
The event uses a completely cashless system. To purchase food and drinks at the festival, you’ll need to use Sesterzi, the only accepted currency. Once you arrive on site, you’ll receive a dedicated rechargeable card.
Every day, you’ll have a wide culinary selection to choose from thanks to the presence of 12 restaurants. The chefs offer three different courses; you’re free to combine dishes from different exhibitors to create a personalized culinary journey.
If you love the world of food, you can participate in exclusive masterclasses up close with the chefs; talks and debates on the latest food & beverage trends; and even dance, thanks to DJ sets curated by RDS (the event’s media partner).
