“Primavera Trasteverina” will transform the historic Ripa Grande space into a vibrant open-air stage. From 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., on the first weekend of April, this charming corner of Trastevere, accessible from Lungotevere Ripa 3 or Via Pietro Peretti 6, will come alive with a fascinating mosaic of artistic, gastronomic and cultural experiences, all with free admission and designed to delight both Romans and tourists in search of authenticity.
The event is a valuable opportunity to discover a secret Trastevere, where time seems to slow down and leave room for contemplation and wonder.
The two-day program
Saturday will feature a rich entertainment program that blends tradition and innovation. From 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., multi-instrumentalist Alessandro Scintu will enchant visitors with his sound improvisations, mixing woodwinds, Arab and African percussion, hangdrum and didjeridoo in a magical fusion of ethnic sounds.
At 5 p.m., the spotlight will be on “Filuccio e Fattacci,” who will perform a rich and varied Romanesque repertoire. Not only the well-known classic stornelli, but also passagalli, serenate, saltarelli, scherzi, monologues and sonnets set to music.
Sunday will open at 12 noon with the comedy and magic show of “Clown Monello,” designed to entertain both children and adults. Next, the sweeping rhythms of the “Caracca itinerant drums” will transport attendees on a sonic journey to Brazil, with a repertoire inspired by the music of Salvador, Recife and Rio, punctuated by rattling drums “like a runaway train.”
The afternoon will conclude with the “HYPNOTICA” DJ Set & Sax (4:30-7:30 p.m.), which will mix exotic grooves, vinyl and sensual notes in an explosive mix of black, afro, funky and jazz sounds.
The Hippie Market: A Universe of Creativity.
The beating heart of the event will be the Hippie Market, a bazaar with a gypsy soul that will host more than 80 selected artisans, designers and artists from all over Italy. Visitors will be able to get lost among stalls offering exclusive creations: from fine craftsmanship to sustainable fashion, from jewelry to boho chic clothing, from handcrafted lamps to scented candles. There will be no shortage of vintage eyewear, author illustrations and ceramic home decor items, along with a curated selection of rare succulents.
In an age increasingly focused on sustainability, the market will also celebrate reuse through a rich selection of vintage garments that tell the story of design and fashion. For the more mystical spirits, there will be corners dedicated to “soul remedies,” with incense, crystals, meditation items and even a space dedicated to tarology.
