King Colis, a French startup specializing in the recovery and resale of unclaimed e-commerce parcels, is also coming to Rome. After success in several cities around the world, such as Rotterdam and Luxembourg, this blind sale experience is coming to the capital. The parcels, whose contents are unknown until purchased, can contain items such as high-tech products, branded clothing, cosmetics, gadgets, watches and more.
Imagine paying nearly 30 euros for a kilo of these parcels and finding a cell phone or smartwatch… the purchase will turn out to be convenient. Of course, it is not certain that the purchase will result in getting these items, the products are “hidden” inside each parcel.
How it works
The pop-up store in Rome will be present from January 14 to 19, 2025, at the ROMAEST shopping center (2nd floor), it will be possible to buy the packs on site. Prices start from €1.99 for 100 g standard parcels and €2.79 for 100 g Amazon parcels.
Customers have 10 minutes to choose their desired parcels, which cannot be opened before purchase. Admission is free and open to all (accompanied minors).
Purchases can also be made online at the King Colis website, for example, the 5 kg parcel lot costs €79.90.
More information
King Colis aims to reduce waste by giving new life to lost parcels. In the past, once buyers were reimbursed, undelivered parcels were destroyed by the logistics platforms that handled the transportation.
In addition, the pop-up stores are made of environmentally friendly materials, underscoring the commitment to sustainability. An opportunity for those who love surprises and want to do business in an original way.
Tips for choosing the best parcels
Our friends at Lisboa Secreta (a sale of this type has already been held in Lisbon) have compiled a list of tips for finding the best parcel:
- Shake the parcels, obviously not too hard, to avoid damaging the item. This is used to guess the contents; if you hear a strange “noise,” it could be a technology accessory;
- Don’t focus on the boxes, because looks can be deceiving;
- Look for “bouncy” items; sometimes, in fact, tech items have a protective cover that causes this effect;
- If you’re looking for clothes (even name-brand), hunt for soft packaging;
- Follow your instincts, often proving to be the most effective tool.
