Castel di Tora, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, is preparing to celebrate its famous Polentone Festival on March 9, 2025. This picturesque village on the shores of Lake Turano offers a unique experience that blends history, nature and culinary tradition.
The main dish of the festival will be Polentone with herring ragout, tuna, salt cod and anchovies, the preparation is by the women of Castelvecchio (inhabitants of the village).
This event represents the Lenten tradition and local culinary history, Castel di Tora, in fact, is part of the Cultural Association of Polentari d’Italia.
Meals will be served from 12 noon at the Massimi parking lot; polenta distribution is guaranteed while supplies last.
