On Thursday, September 10, starting at 7:00 p.m., the Cortile di Parco Appio will host “Famo a mezzi”: a celebration of pizza, beer, and music born from an unusual pairing of two of Italy’s most iconic traditions. On one side is L’Elementare, a Roman landmark known for its thin, crispy round pizza. On the other are the Figurato Brothers—Riccardo and Vittorio—Neapolitan pizza makers based in Madrid, masters of a contemporary Neapolitan pizza characterized by puffy crusts, slap-stretched dough, and high-temperature baking. Admission is free, though reservations are recommended.
The event’s title—and its spirit—are summed up in the slogan chosen for the evening: “Basta poco, che ce vo’.” A phrase that belongs as much to the Roman imagination as to the Neapolitan one, and which says it all about the spirit of conviviality driving the initiative.
The menu: when Roman-style pizza takes on the look of a street urchin
For the occasion, the Figurato Brothers are reinterpreting two of L’Elementare’s iconic pizzas— Datte Foco and Marinara Doppia —using their contemporary Neapolitan style, creating a special “Figurato x L’Elementare” menu that doesn’t declare a winner but brings different techniques and doughs into dialogue. Rounding out the offering is a signature fried dish from the Figurato Brothers: the Genoese-style pasta frittatina. For those who prefer to stick with the classics, a simplified Cortile menu will also be available, featuring Margherita, Rossa, Focaccia, and Crostino.
DJ Banana Aka White Trash will provide the soundtrack for the evening, for an event that aims to evoke—in the organizers’ words—an “old-school” party.
From Madrid to Rome, and back again

“Famo a mezzi” is the second chapter of a dialogue that began in the Spanish capital, where L’Elementare had already introduced its thin Roman-style pizza alongside the Figuratos’ pizzas. Now the journey is taking place in reverse: Rome welcomes the Neapolitan dough and lets it interact with its own tradition. For L’Elementare, the goal is broader: to build a series of international events that promote Roman pizza culture through encounters with other styles.
The event is held at Via dell’Almone 105, in the Cortile di Parco Appio. Free admission.
