Fairy tale and theater lovers, “Peter Pan, the Musical” will be on view at the Brancaccio Theater from Oct. 18 to Nov. 3. Directed by Maurizio Colombi, this show is based on the beloved novel by James Matthew Barrie, which has captivated generations of young and old alike.
Iconic songs such as “Captain Hook’s Rock,” “The Fairy,” “Viva la mamma,” “Sono solo canzonette,” and the famous “L’Isola che non c’è,” all by renowned singer-songwriter Edoardo Bennato, will take the audience on an extraordinary musical journey.
With 20 performers on stage, directed by director Maurizio Colombi, the show comes to life in an enchanted world enhanced by spectacular special effects, such as Peter’s flight. The sets provide the backdrop for the duels between Peter and Captain Hook with his pirates, the adventures of Peter, Wendy and her siblings together with the fairy Tinker Bell, the friendly Sponge, the lively Lost Children, Tiger Lily and the ominous ticking of the dreaded Crocodile that frightens Hook.
After debuting in 2006 at the Augusteo Theater in Naples, the musical has been revived several times over the years, until the latest production in 2019. Its enduring fame and numerous awards received have helped spread its popularity internationally as well, reaching the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman in 2018.
