Cha caldo! Summer in the city can get tiring, walking on hot asphalt, sweating, showering and repeating until the Sun goes down. Many people, for this reason, decide to spend the weekend at the beach, but if you don’t feel like being around a lot of people, struggling to find a free sunbed and standing in traffic, here is a solution for your weekend in the cooler weather.
Summer at Penelope’s Gardens, just outside Rome, is an invitation to slow down and find harmony between body and mind. Nestled in the Castelli Romani countryside, this charming resort is located in an 18th-century farmhouse, surrounded by vineyards and crops typical of the area, offering guests an experience of total relaxation, elegance and manicured nature.
What to experience at Penelope’s Gardens
The beating heart of Penelope’s Gardens is the Wellness Circle. The facility is adult only and offers a journey through seawater lagoon pools, relaxing treatments and environments inspired by travels to late 19th-century France. Here every detail, from the original furnishings to the natural essences, tells a story of welcome and care.
The philosophy of the place is simple: “Take good care of your body, it’s the only place you have to live.” The wellness experience is rounded out with wrap-around massages, sensory pathways, and the chance to rejuvenate in an environment that puts sustainability and care for the environment at its core.
Daily entrance fee
The wellness path costs 40 euros per person and reservations can be made online at the facility’s website. It is often sold out on weekends, so the advice is to book in advance.
Access includes use of the pools, solarium, loungers, Finnish bio-sauna, wellness kit (pool towel and possibility to buy slippers on site). In addition, massages, individual or couples, can be booked (cost not included in admission).
If you add light lunch, the price per person is 65 euros.
