If you are about to have a birthday and are tired of the usual happy hour or pizza among friends, here are some suggestions for organizing a birthday different from those of years past. Take note.
Goliardic evening in Trastevere
This idea is suitable for those who do not take themselves too seriously and especially those who are not touchy. We recommend a dinner of traditional dishes at Cencio’s at Parolaccia. The show lasts 3 hours and swear words are the no-holds-barred protagonists. The entertainer, pianist and waiters engage diners in hilarious gags and handing out insults and jokes.
After the dinner show it’s time for everyone to head to the “Theater and Chocolate” Book Resale for a sexy shot with spicy names…
Dolphin visit
“Under the Sea” organizes eco-tourism excursions to observe dolphins and other marine species in their natural habitat, 4-5 miles from the coast. These boat trips, lasting about 3 hours, also serve to collect scientific data for species conservation and include marine litter collection. During the excursion, participants can see dolphins, manta rays, sunfish, tuna, and seabirds. Tours are also organized in winter.
An unusual breakfast
Who said birthday is celebrated with dinner or lunch? You can also plan a good breakfast with croissants you can’t find everywhere…. At Sweet and Healthy, behind the Tuscolana (Numidio Quadrato metro stop), you’ll find papillon croissants , cruffins (made with muffin dough), crookies (cookie croissants), and even specialty lactose-free ones. The toast is made with a good pistachio cappuccino.
An artistic aperitif
“Paint and Sip” is an experience that combines art and appetizer, ideal for those who love to paint or want to learn. During the event, participants are provided with all the necessary materials (canvas, acrylic paints and brushes) to create their own masterpiece, with guidance from a teacher for those who are beginners. The activity is accompanied by a selection of Italian wines, cheeses, local prosciutto and finger foods. The event lasts about 2 hours and 30 minutes, starts at 6 p.m. and takes place on several dates. Tickets can be purchased through the Fever App and people 16 and older can participate.
A chilling interactive experience
How about an escape room? A live escape game is just what you need to experience a memorable birthday with your family and/or friends. There are several places in Rome that allow you to do just that, including Hidden Evidence: an immersive theatricalexperience held at the Palazzo Rospigliosi, where participants take on the role of detectives.
During the event, they will have to interrogate suspects, search for clues and discover the culprit of a mysterious murder. The experience lasts about 2 hours and involves professional actors playing the suspects. The game is based on two rounds of interrogation, in which participants must analyze the characters’ lies and secrets to solve the case. The event takes place in a historic building and offers an interactive and immersive experience, accessible to ages 12 and up.
