The Trigoria neighborhood in Rome has a new green space available to the community. Located on Via Alvaro del Portillo, in the heart of the Agro Romano, the park was createdby Campus Bio-Medico University as part of an agreement signed with Roma Capitale when the university was first established.
What the new park is like
Designed with energy efficiency and landscape integration in mind, the area offers a variety of amenities for residents of all ages. It features over 3.5 hectares of green space, enriched with trees, shrubs, and a network of walking paths.
Outdoor sports: Three fitness “islands” have been installed. Thanks to a convenient QR code system, users can view instructions on how to properly use the exercise equipment. In addition, the entire perimeter is fenced and equipped with gates, lighting, and a sustainable, low-impact irrigation system.

The origins
The park’s creation is part of the “One Health” project’s vision and is the result of the international “PiùCampus 2045” competition, which involved urban planners and landscape architects from around the world. The goal is twofold: on the one hand, to protect biodiversity; on the other, to build a social bridge between the university and hospital communities and local residents (families, children, and seniors). As reported in Roma Today, under the agreement signed with the City, the maintenance and management of the green spaces will not be the responsibility of the public administration but will be handled by Campus Bio-Medico, which will deploy specialized equipment and personnel to ensure ongoing and environmentally friendly upkeep.
Hours and Dedication Ceremony
The President of the 9th Municipality, Titti Di Salvo, expressed her gratitude to the university and municipal offices for resolving the complex bureaucratic procedures, while also providing some practical information for residents. The park is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. In 2027, on the tenth anniversary of his passing, the new green space will be officially named after Lucchini.
