McDonald’s, the world’s largest and most famous fast food restaurant chain, founded in San Bernardino, California, in 1940 and now spread to more than 100 countries with tens of thousands of restaurants, has opened a new restaurant in Rome. Precisely at 205 Via della Magliana. The opening of this outlet confirms the American chain’s expansion plan in the capital, which is also linked to the major city initiatives of Jubilee 2025. The outlet has brought as many as 60 new hires, offering job opportunities especially to young people and strengthening the brand’s presence in a strategic area of the city.
The venue has more than 150 seats and will be open daily from 7 to 2.
The expansion plan

The new McDonald’s joins the many existing spots in Rome and responds to the increase in tourists and residents that characterizes this period. The opening is part of a national plan that, by 2027, calls for 140 new openings and 15,000 new hires in Italy, with a focus on large cities like Rome.
Initiatives for Rome
In addition to the opening in Via della Magliana, in the past year McDonald’s has opened or plans to open other restaurants in the capital and surrounding area, such as in Anagnina, Primavalle, and Ardea, creating new jobs and bringing innovative services such as digital kiosks for orders, McCafè, and dedicated areas for children.
These new openings are accompanied by special initiatives, such as the “Welcome to Rome” menu designed for the Jubilee, and interventions dedicated to the maintenance and cleaning of the areas adjacent to the restaurants. As many as 56 Roman restaurants are participating in the campaign “Roma cura Roma – Tutta mia la Città,” dedicated to urban decorum.
Starting July 2, anyone who buys a Happy Meal® or McMenu® Large will receive a McDonald’s beach towel (there are four patterns and they can be collected). Also new for Italy, are MCPops, sweets with a mouthwatering cream heart.
