Today, July 28, kicks off the Youth Jubilee, a special Catholic event taking place in Rome until August 3, 2025. During this week, hundreds of thousands of young people from more than 140 countries gather in the capital to participate in moments of prayer, reflection, cultural and spiritual meetings, pilgrimages and celebrations with the Pope. It is an opportunity to share, meet and grow in faith, with moments of celebration and active participation, such as the Prayer Vigil and Solemn Mass presided over by Pope Leo XIV at Tor Vergata.
The event represents an important appointment of the Holy Year, characterized by a rich calendar of initiatives aimed at enhancing youth spirituality and the social, cultural and pastoral commitment of the participants.
The program

On Monday, July 28, the pilgrims are scheduled to arrive and the day is dedicated to the arrivals and accommodation of young people in the reception facilities (parishes, schools, civil defense centers, gyms and families).
Tuesday, July 29, from 9 a.m.: cultural, artistic and spiritual activities spread throughout Rome, with meetings, workshops and thematic visits. At 7 p.m. the celebration in St. Peter’s Square, presided over by Archbishop Rino Fisichella (choral moment of official start of the event).
Wednesday, July 30 and Thursday, July 31, from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., continuation of activities in Rome’s neighborhoods and historic places: workshops, artistic experiences, reflections, testimony meetings, visits to Jubilee churches, initiatives dedicated to inclusion (including “Jubilee for all” for people with disabilities).
In addition, “12 Words to Say Hope” will be held : Thematic listening and discussion paths in 12 churches around the city.
On Friday, August 1, at Circus Maximus, from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., there will be the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in many languages, thanks to more than 1,000 priests available. In parallel, the activities of the dialogues with the city continue.
On Saturday, Aug. 2 in Tor Vergata, from 9 a.m. reception in the event area. From 2 to 8 p.m. music, testimonies, performances and guests including Il Volo, Christian bands and choirs.
From 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., prayer vigil with Pope Leo XIV. Overnight at Tor Vergata includes sleeping bag accommodation in the event area.
Sunday, Aug. 3, at 9 a.m., Holy Mass presided over by the Pope at Tor Vergata, the final act of the Youth Jubilee 2025.
Throughout the week it will be possible:
- Pilgrimages to the Holy Doors and opportunities to receive a Jubilee indulgence.
- Volunteer activities, civic and pastoral engagement, association proposals, and moments of animation and spirituality spread throughout the city.

Registration
At the moment to register for the weekend’s events in Tor Vergata there is only Pass C left at a cost of 35 euros, which includes box-lunch: dinner Aug. 2, breakfast and lunch Aug. 3, insurance and kit (bag, safari hat, 2 t-shirts, recycled plastic bottle, rosary-bracelet, bandana).
