The wait is almost over for the event celebrating independent publishing: Più Libri Più Liberi will open the doors of Rome’s La Nuvola from Dec. 4-8, 2025. The National Small and Medium Publishers Fair, now in its 24th edition, is preparing to transform the Eur convention center into a crossroads of ideas, meetings and new literary discoveries.
Useful information about the Rome Book Fair.

This year, the theme chosen is “Reasons and Feelings,” a tribute to the 250th anniversary of the birth of the master of fiction, Jane Austen. The Fair invites authors, publishers and readers to explore the eternal dialectic between rational analysis and the emotional world, promising a rich cultural program with many events spread over the five days.
The Unmissable Names: Stefánsson and The Great Returns.
The cultural program promises to be packed with moments of the highest level. Among the most anticipated international guests is the giant of Icelandic literature, Jón Kalman Stefánsson, who will be in Rome on December 7. The author will present his latest work at 12 noon, Various Things about Redwoods and Time, in an unmissable dialogue with Lisa Ginzburg at the Comet Hall.
There will also be no shortage of Italian cultural icons: Piero Dorfles and Ilaria Gaspari will return to talk about books and television in a special meeting that looks at the past and future of literary popularization.
A Journey Between History and Publishing News.
Lovers of nonfiction and history will find ample space to explore, with meetings dedicated to landscape and memory fifty years after the death of Pier Paolo Pasolini. Books such as Vito Bruschini’s Diablo, which explores the literary journey through Italian stadium curves, and Andrea Cortellessa’s reflection on Pasolini will be presented.
A specific focus is dedicated to the professional sector and those who love the travel genre: the meeting “Publishers who are reinventing the travel book” will feature experts such as Vittorio Anastasia and Pietro Biancardi in dialogue to understand how the travel narrative is changing.
