The charm of the lavender fields
Those who wish to experience a magnificent lavender bloom must head north. About an hour and a half from Rome, in San Giuliano, Tuscania, lies the lavender fieldof Lucia Gubbiotti’s Organic Farm. Nestled in the greenery of Tuscia, far from busy roads, this estate offers visitors the charm and peace of a “little Lazio Provence.”
Lucia Gubbiotti’s farm is a family-run, eco-sustainable project born from a passion for promoting the local area. The fields, comprising a single parcel of land, are home to rows of Lavandula angustifolia Mill. Cultivation strictly follows organic methods, without the use of chemicals, thus preserving the area’s biodiversity and ensuring the purity of the extracted essential oil.
When to visit
The peak of its splendor is reached during the blooming season, which usually runs from mid-June to mid-July. During these weeks, the fields transform into a deep purple sea framed by oak trees and wind turbines on the horizon.

Visitors can stroll among the rows or simply enjoy the spectacle of the sunset, when the scent of lavender magically fills the air. During the season, the farm opens its doors for special events, such as exercise classes or yoga.
In the farm’s boutique, you can purchase the fruits of this labor: pure essential oil, candles, natural cosmetics, and scented sachets.
