From Nov. 28, 2024 to Jan. 6, 2025, the magic of Christmas returns to Bolzano at Italy’s largest Christmas market. The smell of homemade sweets (such as Strauben or Apple Strudel), mulled wine and the magic of the Christmas atmosphere at the foot of the cathedral. Bolzano’s central square is transformed. How to get to Bolzano from Rome
Bolzano is not quite around the corner for those who live in Rome, but with the Frecciarossa train it can be reached comfortably. The train leaves from Roma Termini or Tiburtina and stops in Florence, Bologna, Verona, Rovereto, and Trento. The trip takes 5 hours. The cost of tickets depends on the days chosen.
On the official website of the Bolzano Christmas Market you will also find packages with overnight stays and various activities to do (e.g., a visit to the Mercantile Museum).
If you go by train, we also recommend renting a car to visit nearby towns, such as Brixen (a small town just waiting to be discovered).
