From October 24-26, 2025, Rome at Officine Farneto will stage Kizuna Expo, the Italian festival dedicated to Japanese culture and cuisine that returns to the city after the success of the 1st edition. For three days, more than 3,000 square meters will be transformed into an authentic matsuri, a traditional Japanese festival, with street food, workshops, exhibitions and performances that will stage a real sensory journey between Tokyo and Rome.
Kizuna in Rome
The festival is a true full immersion in Japanese culture with food, art, music and performances. The food sector will feature more than 20 food stands, including izakaya, ramen bars and traditional sweets, with Japanese chefs and restaurateurs from the best places in Rome and Milan, guaranteeing an authentic Japanese culinary experience.
The Kizuna Expo market, on the other hand, will offer a journey through Japanese crafts, design and culture: ceramics, kimonos, gadgets, bonsai and calligraphy will be on display for the discovery and purchase of exclusive items.
Entertainment will be a roller coaster of excitement with live performances including taiko drums, folk dances and martial arts, alternating with showcooking, concerts and calligraphy demonstrations. Japanese cooking classes taught by professional chefs will be active, with classes for beginners and enthusiasts ranging from sushi to ramen, okonomiyaki to Japanese curry, wagashi (traditional sweets) to many other specialties.
Costs and information
Admission tickets are on sale starting at 6 euros (online); full admission costs 10 euros. If you want to participate in the cooking classes, the cost is separate (40 euros).
Kizuna Expo 2025 thus promises a complete immersion in the tradition and modernity of Japan, with a schedule designed for all ages, capable of bringing the magic of an authentic Japanese festival to Rome.
