On March 22, 2025, the Italian Museum of Craft Beer, located at 48 Via XXIV Maggio (nearest metro stop Cavour), will open in Rome. This new space aims to become a reference point for craft beer enthusiasts in Italy.
The beer museum in Rome
Not much information about this museum has been revealed yet. The news was given by the editorial staff of Roma Today, which published the program of the opening: at 10 a.m. on March 22 there will be the opening, at 11 a.m. the presentation of Italian beers, and at 7 p.m. the tasting of local craft beers.
With the opening of this space, the goal is to raise awareness of the history, techniques and different types of Italian beer. There will, in fact, be interactive exhibits, workshops and tastings.
The opening of the Italian Craft Beer Museum represents yet another opportunity to explore beer culture in Rome, complementing the existing facilities and enriching the city’s cultural offerings in this sector.
Other places to discover for beer lovers
In addition to this new museum, Rome is already home to the Peroni Beer Museum, which offers an exhibition dedicated to the history and relevance of the Peroni company and its brands. The Birra Peroni Museum is located at Via Renato Birolli, 8 (Tor Sapienza area) and offers free tours for groups on weekdays by appointment.
Interestingly, Rome has a long history related to beer production. For example, the MACRO (Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome) occupies part of the complex that once belonged to the Peroni Beer Company and was used for production.
Benefits of beer
A study conducted by Dalian Medical University in China revealed that moderate beer consumption can have beneficial effects on gut health and the immune system. Researchers found that key ingredients in beer-polyphenols, fiber and ethanol-promote the growth of healthy bacteria in the gut, where 80 percent of immune cells reside.
These components of beer have been shown to have even greater effects than probiotics in promoting gut health.
