A short distance from Rome, the picturesque village of Rocca Canterano (in the Latium sub-Apennines) is preparing to host its most irreverent autumn celebration: the Sagra della Rola e Festa del Cornuto.
This goliardic event, famous for its playful theme, celebrates the figure of the “betrayed husband” with a smile. The event invites everyone to participate light-heartedly: men are used to wearing funny horns and spouting themed poems and nursery rhymes.

The heart of the festival beats on the weekend, with a packed program of gastronomy and burlesque parades. On Saturday, November 8, from 12:00 to 10:00 p.m., the Gastronomic Stands will be open with tasting of local products and traditional dishes. On the same day at 6:30 p.m. the Burlesque Parade will start, a playful and cheerful parade, the highlight of the Feast of the Horned Man.
On Sunday, November 9, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., the stands reopen: the last chance to taste the specialties. At 4:30 p.m., the Burlesque Pageant kicks off for the second and final parade.

Come and laugh about it on November 8 and 9 at the Sagra della Rola-Festa del Cornuto in Rocca Canterano, you’ll find a lot of people in the same condition as you…and as they say: mismatch half a joy!!!“
What to Taste
Food stands offer a dive into local flavors. Among the specialties of Rocca Canterano we can find: le Role (roasted chestnuts), beans with pork rinds, sandwiches with sausage and chicory, cecamariti (typical local pasta).
