Rome kicks off the holiday season with the return of Christmas World, the vast Christmas theme park (40,000 sq. m.) that will enliven the heart of Villa Borghese with a new and enhanced edition until Jan. 11.
The format is presented this year as a completely revamped experience, transforming into a true all-around entertainment show.
What’s new for the 2025 edition
The big news this year is the integration of a “Great Christmas Show” in the cost of the entrance ticket (starting at €12.50).
At the center of the offering is the musical“The Nutcracker and the Magic Gifts,” a retelling of the classic fairy tale in a stage work that combines singing, dancing, acting and illusionism. The show narrates the journey of the Nutcracker and a young protagonist in search of the “Magic Gifts” (Wonder, Care, Memory and Courage) to restore light to the world shrouded in a fog that erases emotions.
Entertainment
In addition to the big musical, the park will host an international schedule of more than 300 artists who will enliven the village with Christmas-themed performances from different global traditions. The program includes:
- parades: moving choreography with bands and majorettes
- itinerant music: pop and orchestral choirs (such as The Christmas Parade Orchestra and Itinerant Pop Choirs)
- performances: juggling sessions (Christmas Juggle Show), dance performances (The Grand Dance Ensemble) and puppet and storytelling shows (Fantastic Christmas)
- themed areas: in addition to the large 900-square-meter ice skating rink, visitors will find a food experience area with food from around the world and craft markets to search for original gifts
