Everything is ready for Appia Day, a project that brings together citizens, committees, associations, and institutions at every level—European, national, and local—along the entire route connecting Rome to Brindisi. Preserving and promoting this millennia-old treasure means safeguarding a narrative that spans over 70 municipalities across Lazio, Campania, Basilicata, and Puglia, uniting local territories and identities.
On October 3 and 4, 2026, the most famous ancient road will be transformed into an open-air stage and museum. The program offers numerous free activities: from special access to archaeological sites and walking or biking tours to theatrical performances, concerts, exhibitions, tastings, and activities designed for children. The Via Appia Antica’s recent inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List—a milestone achieved in 2024—lends the event even greater significance.
