If you need to furnish a home or office, we have good news for you. IKEA in Porta di Roma, the Swedish multinational company founded in 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad, is holding a special sale from January 26 until February 9 , 2025.
In fact, Ikea’s Porta di Roma display location will close temporarily for renovations, which will last until May 2025. To free up space without having to move furniture, the store has organized this sale. During these days, many furniture and furnishings marked with a green sticker will be sold at a 50 percent discount. Customers will be able to pre-purchase the items (by contacting the staff) and pick them up from Feb. 10 to 15. Instead, the market area will remain open for purchases and pick-ups, as well as the online shop. Also, during the same period, a promotion will be active in the Circularity Corner, where used furniture can be found.
The store is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Some more information about IKEA
The company is famous for its business model based on modern furniture design, affordable prices, and the do-it-yourself assembly concept (although it is linked to a home assembly service, for those who don’t feel like doing it themselves). This approach reduces costs, allowing IKEA to offer products at competitive prices.
In addition, IKEA stores are designed as immersive showrooms with furnished environments. Not surprisingly, it brought a smile to the face, the news case of a 28-year-old guy from the UK, who posted photos of himself on an app in a stylish apartment, which was actually just a set up in IKEA stores. Although the apartment was not real, the pictures struck Natasha as Lee’s supposedly refined taste.
The truth emerged when Natasha read in Lee’s biography that he was a “fan of pictures taken at IKEA.” Amused by the creative stunt, Natasha decided to contact him, finding the idea brilliant and original to stand out on a dating app.
Today IKEA is the world’s largest furniture retailer, with more than 473 stores in 63 countries (as of September 2024) and annual revenues exceeding 45 billion euros.
Fun fact: IKEA is an acronym combining the initials of the founder (Ingvar Kamprad), the name of his family farm (Elmtaryd) and the neighboring village (Agunnaryd).
