Free access for those over 70 to Rome’s swimming pools: more details
“Outdoor Swimming Pools 2025” is the initiative promoted by the Department of Sport, Major Events, Tourism and Fashion and the Department of Social Policies and Health of Roma Capitale, included in the Capitol’s Hot Plan.
The project offers free admissions to 17 municipal swimming pools and the Health Pool to all over-70 residents in Rome, with the aim of protecting the health and well-being of the most fragile people during the hottest months, while also encouraging moments of socialization to counter isolation and loneliness.
Reservations have already been opened and allow up to a maximum of 5 admissions per person to be reserved, for a total of 5,000 free admissions available from June 22 to September 4.
Those who participate will have free equipment such as umbrellas, sunbeds and deckchairs, thanks to the cooperation of municipal swimming pool operators.
