From June 14 to 16, Rome’s Museo Orto Botanico will host Roma Hortus Vini 2024, an event organized by Sens Eventi and I Migliori Vini Italiani. The fifth edition of the kermis will take place under the stars and will be dedicated to Italian native single-vineyard wines. In the charming Trastevere garden, participants will be able to taste wines, accompanied by jazz music and theatrical performances.
During the three evenings, it will be possible to explore the Vigneto Italia, an area that is home to 155 native grape cultivars from all regions of Italy, grown using biodynamic and low-ecological impact techniques. Guided moonlight tastings will allow visitors to experience a sensory journey of discovery of Italian wines. The event is designed for both experts and enthusiasts.
More than 60 wineries will participate, offering free tastings of their top labels. Tasting tables will be organized by regions and grape varieties.
Not only wine
The evenings will be enlivened by artistic performances emphasizing the link between music, theater, and Italian food and wine culture. The Eleven Spouts Fountain, surrounded by ancient trees, will be the stage for Michela La Ginestra, who will present short plays reflecting on the impact of technology on daily life. The Triton Fountain will host the Borghese Trio with “Francigena in Jazz & Swing,” providing a musical backdrop to the tastings.
A special attraction will be “Idá’s Bubbles,” a soap bubble show that will enchant guests of all ages. The food offerings will be enriched by various food trucks, including “Pizza& Mortazza” with Roman schiacciata stuffed with mortadella and pistachios,“Malandrino” with burgers including vegetarian ones,“Pret à Polpet” with cartocci of fried food, and “Gricia road” with traditional Roman pasta dishes. For desserts, there will be sweet crepes and bombettes from “Verdepistacchio.”
The dress code for the event will be floral themed, the entrance for Roma Hortus Vini 2024 is at Largo Cristina di Svezia 23, A. Hours: june 14 and 15 from 6 pm to midnight, June 16 open from 6 pm to 10 pm. The cost per person is 30 euros (25 euros in online presale until June 13), children free up to 11 years old. Ticket includes tastings and scheduled activities, except street food.
