New Year’s Eve in Rome
This period always comes the fateful question from some friend, “What are you doing on New Year’s Eve?” And there we are thinking about it. It seems like yesterday summer, September with its resolutions and Halloween. Yet here we are, as we do every year, planning the evening of Dec. 31 to celebrate at midnight on Jan. 1, 2025. Some people plan months in advance, some decide to travel, some like to stay indoors and some on the city streets. What do you prefer to do? Here are some ideas for how best to spend the night of December 31 in Rome.
New Year’s Eve at the Circus Maximus
The New Year’s Eve concert at the Circus Maximus in Rome is confirmed and will feature a revamped cast after the controversy surrounding the exclusion of Tony Effe (who will still hold an alternative concert at Palaeur the same night). In solidarity, Mahmood and Mara Sattei have declined to participate.
Artists who will perform on the evening of the 31st at the Circus Maximus include Gabry Ponte, Premiata Forneria Marconi (PFM), Orchestraccia, Orchestra Popolare La Notte della Taranta, Mariachiara Belardo and Don Cash. The event, with free admission, is sponsored by Roma Capitale in collaboration with RDS and will begin at 9:30 p.m., with the midnight countdown led by Don Cash and Mauro Zavadava Mandolesi.
New Year’s Eve at Cinecittà World
On Dec. 31 you can decide to attend the New Year’s Eve party organized by Cinecittà World amusement park, which for the occasion will be transformed into an entertainment village with 40 attractions, dinners and suppers, concerts and DJ sets, fireworks and entertainment from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. This year the park will also host Amore 025 NYE Festival, a historic electronic music festival now in its 20th
edition.
Celebrate in a beautiful Latium village.
Those who like to get away, without necessarily having to spend too much money, may decide to explore one of the many beautiful villages in the Lazio region. Taste new flavors, get carried away by local stories, take fantastic photographs to immortalize your trip! Which destination do you prefer?

Maurizio Battista’s show
If you want to greet the old year with a smile, at the Teatro Olimpico in Rome, on the evening of December 31, 2024 at 9:45 pm, Maurizio Battista offers “MB Show – Special New Year’s Eve.” An evening to laugh together with the Roman comedian.
Enrico Brignano’s show
Enrico Brignano returns to the Sistina for his “New Year’s Special,” on stage Dec. 31 from 9:30 p.m. (with Midnight toast) and Jan. 1 from 6 p.m. An idea for an evening of laughter and fun.
Massimo Ranieri Concert
Massimo Ranieri invites the public to spend a unique New Year’s Eve with an exciting musical and narrative show at the Eur Convention Center La Nuvola in Rome. On Dec. 31, 2024, starting at 10:15 p.m., the artist will offer a journey through his best-loved songs, such as “Rose Rosse” and “Perdere l’Amore,” along with more recent songs, including “Lettera di là dal mare,” winner of the Critic’s Award at Sanremo 2022.
The show will also include previously unreleased songs born from collaboration with great Italian songwriters such as Ivano Fossati, Pino Donaggio and Giuliano Sangiorgi. Tickets for the event are available starting at €79.
New Year’s Eve in Rome at a hotel
There are wonderful hotels in Rome to celebrate the last and first day of the year. You can choose the one you like best and opt for a dinner overlooking the beauty of the capital. There will certainly be no shortage of music and entertainment.
New Year’s Eve at the spa
For a romantic New Year’s Eve or among a few intimates, why not organize a few days at a spa? A short distance from Rome, for example, is the famous QC Terme, in the heart of the Oasi di Porto nature park. Daily admission costs €68, and you can decide to do the spa treatment in the morning or in the afternoon. You can also decide to stay in the elegant hotel.
New Year’s Eve disco
There are several discos in Rome where you can make a night of it on December 31, 2024. Depending on your musical tastes, you can choose The Sanctuary, Art Cafe, Spazio 900, Vinile, etc. Each one with its own night and packages for you to have a good time with your friends.
New Year’s Eve with children
Those celebrating New Year’s Eve with little ones can choose Cinecittà World amusement park or opt for a magical evening (in every sense) at Teatro Ghione in Rome with the magic show “Abracadabra – La Notte dei Miracoli.” Two shows are scheduled, one show at 6:45 p.m. and the other at 10:45 p.m. for those who want to celebrate the night at the theater.
