If you thought train prices from Rome to Naples or Rome to Milan were expensive, this train’s prices will leave you speechless. The Orient Express “La Dolce Vita” is the first luxury train entirely designed and built in Italy, combining elegant and historic styling with design pieces inspired by masters such as Gae Aulenti and Giò Ponti.
The train consists of 12 carriages, some of which house 12 deluxe cabins, 18 suites and a special suite called “La Dolce Vita,” accommodating a total of 62 passengers. In addition to the cabins dedicated to overnight accommodations, there are also the Carrozza Ristorante, where dishes by Michelin 3-star chef Heinz Beck are served, and rooms dedicated to relaxation and socializing, with board games and live music.
Orient Express “La Dolce Vita” itineraries.
Most of the proposed itineraries start right from Rome’s Ostiense station, and then continue to Venice and Portofino, or Montalcino, but also Naples, Florence, Matera and many other cities, reaching as far as Sicily. Ticket prices are high, with the lowest starting at €3,500 per person. The highest tickets go up to over 14,000€ per person.
In addition to the regional itineraries, there are also dedicated golf itineraries, usually the longest, passing through Brescia, Turin, and Perugia or Puglia. There is also the possibility of spending a single day on the luxurious train, thanks to the Gourmet Escape experience for “only” €1,200 per person.
Finally, if you want to give yourself a nice Christmas or New Year’s gift, Orient Express offers two itineraries, Jingle Route and Whispers at Midnight, that are sure to add a touch of class to your holidays.
