Evening walks in the Imperial Forums: a magical journey through the illuminated ruins of imperial Rome
Until September 28, 2025, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the appointment with the evening walks at the Imperial Forums returns, a unique opportunity to explore under the stars one of the most extraordinary archaeological complexes in Roman history.
The route winds among the vestiges of ancient plazas and monuments that were the beating heart of the Roman Empire: from the Forum of Trajan, built to celebrate military victories and home to the famous Trajan Column with its narrative reliefs, to the Forum of Caesar, where the remains of the Temple of Venus Genetrix, symbol of the divine legitimation of the Julio-Claudian family, can be found. The walk continues to the Curia, seat of the Roman Senate, and ends at Largo Corrado Ricci, offering a privileged look at places that shaped the history of Rome and the West.
The ruins are illuminated by a lighting system designed to enhance architectural details and create an enchanted, almost theatrical atmosphere that transports visitors back in time. This play of light enhances the historical forms and meanings of the structures, allowing for an immersive and evocative experience away from the hustle and bustle and heat of the day.
