Lazio’s historic homes will open free to the public on the weekends of Nov. 30-Dec. 1 and Dec. 14-15, 2024. On these dates, 85 exclusive locations including castles, villas, noble palaces, parks, archaeological sites and gardens will be accessible to citizens, families, students and tourists to explore the region’s artistic and cultural heritage.
Each mansion manages visits independently, so it is recommended to check modes and schedules on the website of the Latium Historic Residences Network before visiting. Recently, the regional Network has been enriched with new entries, including the Mazzenga Palace in Alvito and the Villa Eucheria Monastery and Cryptoporticus in Castrocielo in the province of Frosinone, as well as the Municipal Palace in Vetralla in the province of Viterbo, bringing the total number of residences to 202.
During these extraordinary openings, the Lazio Region and Lazio Innova are promoting a competition for the best Christmas display, with a prize of 5,000 euros going to the winner for investment in the mansion.
