The Supplì e Fritti Romani Festival at Eataly Ostiense is one of the “cult” events for those who live in Rome and love local street food. This year, the 2026 edition is set for the last weekend of February 20-22: the third floor of the store becomes a veritable fried food square.
How the event is structured
It is not a served dinner, but a large informal party. At the entrance (which is free), you purchase tokens (usually worth €1.50 each) that are used to “pay” for the various specialties at the stands. There are often promotional booklets (such as “#frittoèbonotutto”) to save money if you plan to do a complete tour.
What to eat (The stars of the show)
The festival brings together the historic names of Roman cuisine and new gourmet realities. The festival brings together the best interpreters of Roman and creative cuisine, offering a variety of specialties ranging from the purest tradition to bold innovations.
Antitesi & Supplì Bros: focus on bold combinations such as pumpkin and crispy guanciale or the aromatic pairing of broccoli and sausage. There is no shortage of the famous pasta frittatine, offered in Carbonara and Cacio e Pepe variations with a touch of truffle.
Forno Roscioli & Eataly: a guarantee of signature simplicity. From classic tomato and basil supplì to the great pillars of Roman street food such as cod fillet and battered zucchini flowers. To finish on a sweet note, Forno Roscioli offers seasonal classics: ricotta and citrus castagnole or delicious mini tarts with sour cherries and sheep’s milk ricotta.
Cimarra 4: a must for those with specific dietary requirements, offering rice balls (including cacio e sei pepi) and croquettes that are completely gluten-free and lactose-free.
Santi’ – Tradizione Contadina: brings the flavors of the earth to the table with carciofi alla giudia (fried artichokes) embellished with pecorino cheese and mint, and a special breaded cutlet accompanied by Tuscia potato cream.
5&28 – Cucina e Miscele: stands out for its homemade meatballs, available in gourmet versions such as boiled meat with green sauce or chicken cacciatore with rosemary mayonnaise.
The fried dishes are paired with craft beers from small Italian breweries (such as Mosto Italiano or Flea) and cocktails on tap.
