Madrid will host the Formula 1® Grand Prix starting in 2026, thanks to a 10-year agreement that will last until 2035. This new city event will take place from September 11-13, 2026 at the new MADRING circuit, which combines urban stretches, the IFEMA Madrid area and a permanent circuit in Valdebebas, with 22 corners, including the spectacular elevated curve “La Monumental.”
The Madrid Grand Prix
The Madrid Grand Prix marks the return of Formula 1® to the Spanish capital after more than 40 years, making Spain the only country with two races on the 2026 calendar (along with the traditional Barcelona-Catalunya circuit in Montmeló). The race in Madrid will be the 16th round of the world championship, which will have a total of 24 Grands Prix in 2026 , starting in Australia in March and ending in Abu Dhabi in December.
The event is eagerly anticipated, with the participation of leading F1 champions such as Verstappen, Leclerc, Norris and Spanish drivers Fernando Alonso, Carlos Sainz, Pepe Martí and Mari Boya. 2026 will usher in a new era for Formula 1®, with updated regulations and cars powered by 100 percent sustainable fuel, in line with F1®’s goals of sustainability, diversity and inclusion.

MADRING promises a unique, immersive and adrenaline-fueled experience, juxtaposing the energy of the city with the roar of the engines, with side events and initiatives organized in Madrid in the months leading up to the race, curated by Fever, the official service provider (MADRING ticketing and services).
In summary, the Grand Prix in Madrid represents a novelty and an important opportunity for Formula 1® fans to experience a race in a European capital with a modern and exciting circuit layout. Among the Formula 1® Grand Prix stops closest to Rome, excluding the Italian Grand Prix in Monza in September, is definitely the Madrid one! A different and new experience!
